Maria Fravventura

Security Evaluator, Brightsight, Netherlands

After obtaining her master degree in Experimental Physics in Milan (Italy), Maria became Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Sciences at Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands). In 2015, she joined Brightsight as security evaluator and rapidly grew to become a senior technical lead. In her role, she guides teams of security experts conducting Common Criteria assurance assessments on HSMs, payment terminals and a variety of other devices.

In 2018, Maria was responsible for the evaluation of the first HSM successfully certified against the eIDAS protection profile (EN 419 221-5). In addition, she participated in the design of a composite evaluation approach bridging the scopes of EN 419 221-5 and EN 419241-2 protection profiles, supporting SAM developers in achieving eIDAS certification by capitalizing on the results of the evaluation of the underlying HSM.
