Charting the Course: Navigating Maritime Cybersecurity (I13c)
As the maritime industry embraces digital transformation, it faces increasing cyber threats. Recently, several notable maritime cybersecurity incidents took place, having a severe impact on thousands of ships and maritime personnel.
That’s why it is vital to raise cyber resilience in the maritime sector. With all the different regulations and directives upcoming, it can be challenging to keep track of what should be the focus. Should the industry delve into EU CSA? Should NIS2 be considered? And what about the supply chain – should the Cyber Resilience Act be deemed a necessity for maritime suppliers? How do all these aspects relate to existing regulations, specifically targeting the maritime sector, such as IMO, UR E26, and UR E27?
During this talk, attendees will have the opportunity to reflect on these questions and gain insights through examples of real scenarios involving various stakeholders in the maritime and offshore industries. The talk will conclude with a case study demonstrating the real risks at hand and the urgency of preparing for future cybersecurity attacks.
