IoT Security – How SESIP Is Supporting Industries to Prepare for Incoming EU Legislation (I21b)
This talk will address the European Union’s growing commitment to IoT security, highlighting the impending impact of amendments to the Radio Equipment Directive on enterprises engaged in the supply of interconnected IoT devices. Simultaneously, the forthcoming Cyber Resilience Act is set to introduce new regulations aimed at bolstering cyber resilience across digital markets and businesses. Adapting to the evolving regulatory landscape poses a multifaceted and resource-intensive challenge. During the talk, the speaker will elucidate how SESIP (Security Evaluation Standard for IoT Platforms) streamlines this process by facilitating alignment with existing regulations and serving as a singular reference point for comprehensive evaluation. Additionally, the talk will emphasize the importance of industry-wide participation in the evolution of this standard under the aegis of GlobalPlatform. Such collective efforts are poised to not only simplify product conformity with the emerging regulations but also raise the overall standards and efficacy of IoT security.
