A Deep Dive Into New Technologies for IoT Cybersecurity (I22c)

The billions of IoT devices that will be deployed within the next decade will change our life and help to tackle challenges such as energy management efficiency, intelligent vehicle or industry 4.0. Cybersecurity is a critical requirement for a large scale deployment of IoT ecosystems; we have to ensure that those billions connected devices will never become a major threat for the humanity. Cybersecurity technologies are deployed to protect IT systems, and the European Cyber Act is a foundation for standards and regulations. Technologies to protect IoT systems are different due to the nature of the IoT edge devices with limited computing resources. The purpose of the presentation is to review the most innovative cybersecurity technologies that have been specifically developed for IoT ecosystems. For instance, how new IA algorithms and neuronal networks deployed at the edge level will help to efficiently detect cyber-attack. Another example is the emergence of quantum technologies that will change the way we will protect IoT devices against new class of cyberattacks. In order to define and efficiently deploy security standards & certifications for the IoT cybersecurity , a deep dive into the leading edge and future technologies will definitively help.
