Assessment of Harmonised Standards for the EU Cyber Resilience Act (R13b)
The harmonized standards for the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) address both horizontal aspects and sector-specific standards. The European Commission has announced that harmonized standards for the CRA will not undergo the HAS assessment process; instead, a new assessment method will be introduced. Building on the experience from the assessment of RED cybersecurity standards, this talk examines the need for a tailored approach to ensure timely citation in the official journal. Key questions remain about the methodology, the entities responsible for assessments, and the expectations from the Commission. The outcome of this new assessment method will directly impact the availability of harmonized standards and compliance with the CRA.
