European Cross-Border Cybersecurity Operations Collaboration through the Lens of the CACAO Standard (B22d)

In the realm of cybersecurity, Europe’s regulatory landscape is witnessing a proliferation of directives and acts designed to fortify the Union’s readiness, detection capabilities, and responsiveness to cybersecurity incidents. A pivotal facet of these developments involves fostering operational collaboration among member states, underpinned by standardized operating procedures and technological solutions. These efforts inherently necessitate the establishment of robust cybersecurity interoperability standards. This talk introduces the OASIS “Collaborative Automated Course of Action Operations (CACAO)” standard and elucidates its role within the broader European cybersecurity strategy. CACAO, functioning as an interoperable playbook standard, focuses on the comprehensive documentation of cybersecurity and privacy-oriented processes and procedures, enabling their seamless exchange across diverse organizational structures and geographical boundaries.
