Supporting TIC Sector Alignment: a Proficiency-Testing Programme to Overcome IoT Challenges (B12b)
TIC Council, the international trade association representing Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) companies has planned to conduct a proficiency-testing programme on IoT consumers goods. This will be done according to ETSI EN 303 645 following an established procedure ETSI TS 103 701 and by establishing a laboratory inter-comparison. The aim of TIC Council is to produce a detailed analysis to better understand how the standard is applied by manufacturers under the regime of self-declaration of conformity, and to provide feedback on the processes of the accompanying testing specification. The project will consist of a gap analysis that will review the consistency of the assessment method and any relevant differences in results between different laboratories for the benefit of the participants. The objective of the session is to raise visibility about the project amongst the standards community, and to provide a concrete example for the development of the standard and its application by manufacturers.
