Nikos Mavrogiannopoulos

Product Security Program Architect, ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions

Biography

Nikos Mavrogiannopoulos helps teams build secure products that also meet modern cybersecurity regulations. Over the years, he has worked with standards and frameworks such as FIPS, PCI-DSS, CIS, RED, and the CRA—sometimes voluntarily.

He has created and led product security teams, contributed to protocol standards including TLS and SRP, and enjoys working at the intersection of security and real-world systems. His background is in mathematics and cryptography, and he holds a PhD focused on breaking cryptographic protocols, which has left him healthily skeptical of new cryptographic designs.

He currently works as a Product Security Architect at ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, with a focus on making security practical, scalable, and slightly less painful for everyone involved.
