Tony Boswell started in cybersecurity as an evaluator at one of the original UK government Evaluation Facilities in 1987. His work has spanned numerous secure system developments and evaluations, with technologies including formal methods, smart cards, EU digital signatures, smart meters, virtualisation, and network devices. Tony has been an active participant in numerous international working groups, has written and edited Protection Profiles and UK CPA Security Characteristics, and has contributed to the design, methodology and interpretation of several cybersecurity evaluation schemes. Most recently he has been an editor for several Common Criteria international Technical Communities, for the new ISO/IEC 15408-4 standard, and for updates to UK smart metering Security Characteristics and methodology. He is currently a Senior Principal Consultant and Technical Manager of the CyTAL evaluation laboratory, where he helps developers to take their products through cybersecurity evaluations and has a special interest in generating assurance through fuzz testing.
