Certification in the Face of Updates and Upgrades – an Outlook (S13a)
The possibility of extending the assurance of any given certificate to future versions of the target of evaluation has long been a focal point for new developments in certification. This talk from a governmental certification body will illustrate advantages and challenges of current ideas as well as highlight experiences from in-the-making certification programs. These include, but are not limited to predictive assurance and process certifications patch management & flaw remediation as well as combined certificates. By discussion of similarities and key differences between the approaches, the speakers will highlight possible areas for new initiatives. In conclusion, the speakers will show possible approaches of implementing these new solutions into existing legal frameworks, mainly the CRA and the CSA, but also a piece of national legislation from Germany pertaining to a certification in the public health sector.
